The Master in Transportation Design – Automotive & Interaction Design at IAAD. in Turin is a comprehensive program tailored for individuals passionate about shaping the future of mobility. Spanning 16 months, the course is divided into a 6-month Preliminary Module followed by a 10-month Master Module, providing a deep dive into both the theoretical and practical aspects of transportation design.

The Preliminary Module covers foundational subjects such as the history of vehicle design, design sketching, digital design, vehicle architecture, motorbike ergonomics, 3D design, motorbike design, transportation design, and presentation techniques. This phase ensures that students acquire essential skills and knowledge, setting a solid groundwork for advanced studies.

Upon successful completion of the Preliminary Module, students advance to the Master Module, which delves into specialized areas including transportation design, 3D design, human-centered design, mobility systems and urban planning, Italian design heritage in mobility, emerging technologies in mobility, sustainable design, design marketing and communication, and financial strategies for mobility design. This curriculum is designed to equip students with the expertise required to navigate the evolving landscape of transportation and mobility solutions.

A distinctive feature of the program is the thesis project developed in collaboration with industry partners. Students engage with companies through initial briefings, intermediate presentations, and reviews, culminating in a final thesis discussion. Past collaborations have included esteemed organizations such as the Fiat Research Center, Lancia Style Center, Italdesign Giugiaro – Volkswagen Group, Porsche, Pininfarina, Changan, MG, Peugeot, Hitachi Rail, and Suzuki.
